Psychology
​ Delve into fascinating questions of human thought, emotion, and behavior. How do the brain and the mind interact? How do social and cultural forces shape us? How do we change from birth to death? How can we use psychology to help people overcome challenges in their lives, workplaces, and communities? Gain the expertise of the psychologist through courses, internships, and faculty-led research. A course in psychology equips the students with an in-depth knowledge in various aspects like child psychology, industrial psychology, counseling psychology, personality development etc. In addition to the theory papers the students have practical papers every year which will give them practical insight into the subjects. Our graduates are well prepared for advanced study and exciting careers.
Sociology
While pursuing the graduate programme in Sociology students examine all levels of society and all social orders critically– from the elements and regular qualities of small groups to complex private and open administrations. Students will know about the political and social bases and qualities of open approaches and their distinctive effects on people, gatherings and social orders. The emphasis is on critical evaluation to provide scientific aptitudes that give experiences of human social associations. These skills rest on sound standards of social hypothesis and strategies which encourage orderly target. This program prepares students for professions in social administration, criminal equity, law, business, government and training.
Economics
​ Economics is the study of how individuals, organizations, and societies deal with scarcity. The economics curriculum develops tools and uses them to analyse a wide range of societal problems, and also to study the role of the government in solving these problems. Thus the economics course is designed to provide a broad understanding of economic and political problems in the national and world economy. The programme aims at providing knowledge on fundamental concepts and theoretical propositions, understanding of the institutions- social, political and economic that influence economic issues, to give students an exposure to the economic problems and issues and preparing graduates for careers in government, business, labour, research and education.

Syllabus


The college follows the prescribed syllabus of the University of Mysore which gets updated from time to time.

Eligibity


Candidates who have passed Two Year Pre University Course of Karnataka State in any discipline or its equivalent (viz., 10+2 of other states, ITI, Diploma etc.) are eligible for admission into this program

Duration Of the program


The program of study is Four years of Eight Semesters. A candidate shall complete his/her degree within eight academic years from the date of his/her admission to the first semester. The NEP 2020 provides multiple exit options for students as specified below:

  • The students who successfully complete ONE year/ 2 Semesters and leave the program, will be awarded Certificate in BA JPEng.
  • The students who successfully complete TWO years/ 4 Semesters and leave the program, will be awarded Diploma in BA JPEng.
  • The students who successfully complete THREE years/ 6 Semesters and leave the program, will be awarded Bachelors Degree in BA JPEng.
  • An option is given to the students to continue their education to the Fourth year and those who successfully complete FOUR years/ 8 Semesters will be awarded Bachelors Degree in BA JPEng(Hons).
